The rumors were true — and then some. Universal Orlando just pulled back the curtain on Halloween Horror Nights 2026, and it’s marking the occasion in a major way. This isn’t just another year of scares. It’s the 35th anniversary of the event that helped define modern Halloween entertainment, and Universal is pulling out all the stops.

The Theme: Infernal Carnival of Nightmares
Universal Studios Florida will transform into a decrepit, fear-fueled carnival this fall — think rusted tent poles, flickering lights, and the kind of unease that makes you check over your shoulder more than once. The theme is a nod to HHN’s deep history while also signaling something new.
The event runs select nights August 28 through November 1, 2026.
Jack the Clown and Dr. Oddfellow: From Rivals to Partners
Here’s the headline: for the first time ever, Jack the Clown and Dr. Oddfellow are co-ringmasters of Halloween Horror Nights.
These two have been battling it out as rivals for decades — Jack the sadistic clown with his oversized shears, and Dr. Oddfellow with his disturbing puppet companion. They’ve been the faces of different eras of HHN, each building their own mythology.
This year, they put their differences aside. The official line: “a fear divided is a fear diluted.” Translation? They’re teaming up, and if you’ve ever seen HHN house trailers, you know that any collaboration between these two is going to be intense.
New House: Jack & Oddfellow: Chaos & Control

One of the original haunted houses at HHN 35 will take you inside the origin of this partnership. “Jack & Oddfellow: Chaos & Control” explores the moment these two iconic villains decided that joining forces was smarter than staying rivals.
Without spoiling anything for returning fans: the house reportedly traces their history, their conflict, and the pivotal moment they realize the only way to get real power is through teamwork. Expect elaborate sets, aggressive scares, and the kind of production value Universal is known for.
