Universal Orlando’s highly anticipated theme park, Epic Universe, is coming to life with new developments and details emerging every week. From the unveiling of the adorable Yoshi ride vehicles to the construction of Dark Universe’s gothic village, there is plenty to dive into in this exciting update.
How to Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk
Construction is in full swing at How to Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk, with new details and structures added every day. The basin in the main lagoon has received a new finish, and water sprayer effects have been added along sections of the track where the roller coaster will seemingly glide over the water.
The grand stands for the land’s two skyfly spinning flat rides are also taking shape, with themed divider walls being erected around the section of track that passes through them. These grand stands will give guests the feeling of being in the middle of a dragon race, just like in the movie.
Construction progress can also be seen on the land’s family-friendly outdoor boat ride, with a mossy wall being fully themed and a covered queue area being framed up. This boat ride promises to be a thrilling experience for all ages and will be one of the highlights of this magical land.
Super Nintendo World
Fans of Super Nintendo World were thrilled to get a sneak peek at the Yoshi ride vehicles, which have recently been uncovered from their protective wrapping. These colorful vehicles are shaped like Yoshi eggs and will be used for both accessibility and ADA purposes.
The exterior work on Bowser’s Fortress, which will be home to the highly anticipated Mario Kart ride, continues to progress. The entrance for the ride’s gift shop, rumored to be named Mario Motors, now boasts an M-shaped entrance to keep with the theme.
The facade for Peach’s Castle is also receiving its finishing touches, with new towers being added and the second level still to come. A fan favorite, the Minecart Madness roller coaster, is also taking shape in the Donkey Kong Country area, with a palm tree icon and colorful wall art being installed.
Dark Universe
The gothic village of Dark Universe is gradually coming to life, with the addition of a metallic ring on the front of the detailed portal. This is the third portal to receive its ring, with How to Train Your Dragon and The Legend of Zelda Lands also featuring similar structures.
Construction progress on The Legend of Zelda Land can be seen in the form of a mossy wall being fully themed near the start of the boat ride. This intricate detailing will transport guests into the magical world of Link and Zelda as they embark on their boat adventure.
Wizarding World of Harry Potter Ministry of Magic
No Universal Studios park would be complete without The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and Epic Universe is no exception. Construction is well underway for this beloved land, with the new 1920’s perfume mural spotted just outside the land’s entrance.
Celestial Park
The futuristic Celestial Park area has not been forgotten either, with new trees being planted to help block the view of the hub areas outside. The park’s perimeter fence and completed pathways near the land’s entrance make it feel like a world all its own.
Epic Universe Hotels
Epic Universe will also feature several hotels for guests to stay in, including a Universal brand hotel and two additional themed hotels. The construction for these hotels is also well underway, with new details emerging every day.
