The calendar year comes to an end on New Year’s Eve. As previously reported, the Universal Studios Florida theme park will host a New Year’s Eve celebration beginning at 6:15 p.m. on December 31 and ending at 1:00 a.m. on January 1st. We discovered an additional New Year’s Eve event at Universal Orlando thanks to some large signs placed in the CityWalk area. These signs appeared in the absence of any official information from Universal Orlando. We’d like to thank Universal Food Blog for the photo and for bringing our attention to this new sign.
On the basis of this, CityWalk will be a vibrant area on December 31, 2022, into the early hours of January 1, 2023. Numerous New Year’s Eve events will take place that evening and the next morning, according to the huge signs at CityWalk. The New Year’s Eve celebrations at CityWalk are scheduled to go from 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., according to the sign. Since theme parks closed for an extended period of time in 2020, CityWalk has rarely stayed open until 2:00 p.m. CityWalk usually shut down at 2:00 a.m. in the years before it was shut down.
The line about “Food & Drink Specials” at various venues was the first part of the CityWalk New Year’s Eve festivities that drew my attention. Universal Orlando understands how to pique the interest of the theme park food blogger. There have been no official details released about those options. I hope to see several pop-up kiosks used on a regular basis when special events block off areas of CityWalk.
Furthermore, the CityWalk New Year’s Eve celebrations include live music and a DJ. Crenshaw Duo will perform four shows on the waterfront stage beginning at 6:00 p.m. A DJ will also provide music in the promenade area throughout the evening.
A large sign informs visitors that a special midnight celebration will take place in the plaza and promenade areas. Once again, we lack complete information at this time. However, we should anticipate some kind of countdown. However, we do not anticipate any additional fireworks in CityWalk. We know that some limited pyrotechnics will take place at midnight during the New Year’s Eve festivities at Universal Studios Florida. Based on history, the likelihood of any additional fireworks is very low.
Finally, unlike some EVE-style events held in previous years in CityWalk at Universal Orlando, this celebration is free of charge. Yes, you must pay for food and beverages, but admission is free.
