Halloween Horror Nights 31 Photo Update: Aug 16, 2022 – Universal Studios Florida

With Halloween Horror Nights 31 just around the corner and all the details now revealed, we take a look around Universal Studios Florida to see what’s been done for scare zone preparation.

As we enter the park, we’re greeted by an enormous truss structure – similar to last year’s entryway. This year, however, pumpkins are hanging all over the place…

…including the legend, Lil Boo.

The biggest zone of the event has seen a lot of the construction focus on the Revenge of the Mummy/Tribute Store area, with several props and booths added and a Major Sweets Candy Truck.

Taking a closer look at the booths, we now see an assortment of the candies that Major Sweets offers; including some from “Miss Treats” (Get it?)

The Tribute Store, which will tie into the story of the scare zone, recently had its trim painted with oranges and blacks and looks a bit more “dilapidated” than it did during the Summer. The “Closed” sign also features some backstory for the Store and Zone and teases a “Dead Coconut Club”. Could we see an HHN bar in CityWalk during this year’s event?

As we make our way through New York, a cornfield facade features a covered prop, and the lamps feature cartoon pumpkins.

Graveyard: Deadly Unrest has featured the most attention since the start of scare zone construction.

A gate has been added to the Nettlewoods Cemetary entrance column.

Most of the thematic elements have been installed in recent weeks, with vines, statues, webs, and tattered fabrics adorning the crypts. Even with the experience being during daytime hours, the area has a real spooky vibe that will definitely get amplified when it’s nighttime.

San Francisco has seen little progress since the addition of the stage last week.

Central Park has slowed down after initially being one of the first areas to begin set up. So far, the truss structure is set up (which will be a barn) and lanterns fill the trees.

That’ll do it for the scare zone update. We will be posting a bit more regularly as we inch closer to opening night and more props are added.
