Earl the Squirrel is getting his biggest holiday appearance yet. Universal Orlando’s homegrown character will debut as a giant balloon in the 100th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on November 26, then join Universal’s Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s at Universal Studios Florida in early December.
When Earl’s balloon reaches Universal Studios Florida
According to Universal’s announcement, the balloon is planned for the Orlando parade starting in early December. That is later than the resort’s holiday season, which begins November 14, so visitors arriving at the start of the season should not assume the balloon will be in the lineup. Universal has not announced an exact first Orlando parade date.
Earl the Squirrel meet-and-greets and merchandise
Beginning November 14, Universal says guests can meet Earl daily at Universal Studios Florida and on weekends at CityWalk. A Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade-themed Holiday Tribute Store will feature new Earl merchandise, while an Earl-inspired Hazelnut Dot Cake joins the seasonal treats. Universal’s holiday celebration runs through January 3, 2027; our 2026 Universal Orlando holidays guide covers the wider lineup.
