Dark Universe is getting another roller coaster. Universal Orlando confirmed on November 5 that an indoor coaster is under construction at Epic Universe, next to Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment. The new attraction will tell an original story inspired by the Universal Monsters.
What Universal has confirmed about the Dark Universe coaster
In its official announcement, Universal says the coaster is planned to open in the years ahead. It has not announced an opening date, a ride name, height requirement, or which monsters will appear. EUB previously covered foundation work behind Dark Universe; Universal has not identified the pictured work site as the coaster location.
Another Epic Universe coaster joins Dark Universe
The land already pairs the outdoor Curse of the Werewolf coaster with the indoor Monsters Unchained attraction. In our view, an indoor coaster could give Universal an interesting way to combine the land’s monster storytelling with a different kind of thrill; the announcement leaves the ride’s actual experience open to imagination. Until Universal releases more details, its theme and opening timing remain unknown.
