Updated: 10/13/2026. Clarified what profile pictures tell visitors about character availability.
Toothless, Niffler and Universal’s monsters are among the reported new choices for a Universal Orlando app profile picture. The character picker lets users replace the default Universal logo with an icon from the resort’s stories.
Which characters appear in the Universal Orlando app?
The reported choices range from a Super Mushroom and other Nintendo power-ups to Wizarding World creatures, Toothless and Hiccup, Frank and Wolfman, Rexy, King Kong and E.T. DreamWorks characters include Po, Shrek, Donkey, Poppy and Branch, while Optimus Prime and Bumblebee represent Transformers.
How to change your Universal Orlando app profile picture
To use the reported character picker, open your account, tap the pencil beside the profile picture, choose a character and tap Save. The account then displays the chosen icon against a matching colored background. Universal’s official app page explains the app’s broader features; it does not confirm this character-picker update. No app version or rollout schedule has been confirmed for the new icons.
Choosing an account icon does not tell you where or when that character appears in the parks. If you’re setting up the app for a trip, our Universal Orlando wait-time alerts article covers another useful app feature, and our first-timer guide outlines what to prepare before arrival.
