Update, October 2, 2026: Fireworks were seen during the October 1 performance of Universal Celestial Goodnight at Epic Universe, after a technical issue kept them out of the show for more than two weeks. WDW News Today reported the return and pointed to guest video from that night. Universal has not separately announced that the technical issue is permanently resolved, so this is a reported return—not a guarantee about every future performance.
When Did Epic Universe Fireworks Return?
Reports and video from October 1 show the fireworks finale again accompanying the fountains, lighting and music in Celestial Park. The change reverses the temporary absence Universal acknowledged in September, when it told guests the pyrotechnics were unavailable because of a technical issue. The company did not give a return date at the time, and it has not published details about the repair.
The distinction matters for visitors deciding whether to stay until park close: the show itself continued during the outage, but the larger fireworks effect was missing. One reported full performance is welcome news, though weather or operations can still change a particular evening’s presentation.
What to Expect From Universal Celestial Goodnight Now
Universal introduced Universal Celestial Goodnight in July as a nightly Celestial Park production with fountains, synchronized lighting, music and a fireworks finale. Our original show guide explains the full presentation and where it fits into an Epic Universe evening.
If the fireworks are a priority, check the Universal Orlando app or ask a team member on your visit day rather than treating the October 1 performance as a nightly promise. That is especially useful if you’re timing dinner, rides or a return trip around the finale. Our Epic Universe guide can help you plan a day that still works if entertainment changes.
What Universal Has Confirmed—and What It Hasn’t
- Confirmed in September: the fireworks were temporarily unavailable because of a technical issue.
- Reported on October 1: guest video showed fireworks back in that night’s show.
- Not announced: a permanent fix, a revised show schedule or a guarantee that every performance will include pyrotechnics.
