Universal Nights Brings Epic Universe Its First After-Hours Ticket Event

Universal Orlando is testing a big new idea for Epic Universe this fall: a paid, limited-capacity after-hours event inside its newest park. Universal Nights at Epic Universe is currently set for two October 2026 dates, with tickets starting at $179.99 plus tax.

The natural comparison is Disney After Hours, but this is not just a copy-and-paste late-night ticket. Universal is using Epic Universe itself as the draw, with all five worlds open during event hours, early entry at 7 p.m., and a chance to pair the night with Universal Celestial Goodnight before the private event begins.

What Universal Has Confirmed

Universal lists Universal Nights as a separately ticketed event at Universal Epic Universe on Saturday, October 3 and Saturday, October 17, 2026. Tickets go on sale August 13.

The event runs from 9 p.m. to midnight, with entry allowed as early as 7 p.m. Universal says all attractions and experiences will be open during the event, along with character appearances throughout the park.

Included food and drink are part of the pitch. Universal specifically names berry-flavored Celestial Popcorn, crispy Kimchi Bao at Celestial Park, and Coca-Cola Freestyle refills in a provided cup.

Universal Nights vs. Disney After Hours

The two events share the same basic promise: pay for a smaller-crowd nighttime window, arrive before the private event starts, and use the late hours to do more with less daytime heat and fewer people in the park.

The difference is scale and availability. Disney After Hours runs across multiple Walt Disney World parks on many dates, while Universal Nights has only two announced nights so far. That makes Universal’s version feel more like a first test than a full season.

Why Epic Universe Makes This More Interesting

Epic Universe changes the math because the park is still the biggest new theme park draw in Orlando. A lower-capacity night could be especially appealing for guests who want to focus on portals, headliners, and nighttime atmosphere without spending a full day in the park.

It also creates a cleaner nighttime story around Celestial Park. If you arrive at 7 p.m., you may be able to catch the park’s evening energy and Universal Celestial Goodnight before shifting into the ticketed event window. That is a very different feel from using an after-hours ticket mainly as a ride-count strategy.

For fans deciding where to spend limited vacation money, the key question is not whether Universal Nights is cheaper or more expensive by a few dollars. It is whether Epic Universe’s lineup is worth concentrating into a late-night, limited-capacity format. If you are already comparing multi-day admission, our Universal Orlando discount tickets guide is still the better place to start before adding a special event ticket.

What Fans Should Watch Before Buying

Universal has not announced a full price range, additional dates, or whether the event will expand beyond the two October nights. The current $179.99 price is a starting point, so final costs could shift if Universal adds more nights or date-based pricing.

The attraction language is strong, since Universal says all attractions and experiences will be open during the event. Even so, operations can change, and the most important practical detail will be how Universal manages demand for the biggest Epic Universe rides during only three event hours.

Annual Passholders also have a reason to pay attention. Universal says Passholders can save 10% on up to six Universal Nights tickets per valid Annual Pass or Seasonal Pass, and Premier and Preferred Passholders can save on food and merchandise at the event.

Who This Event Makes Sense For

Universal Nights looks most useful for Epic Universe fans who want a lower-crowd evening, visitors who can handle a late night, and locals or passholders who do not need the event to replace a full park day. It is probably less ideal for anyone who needs a slower pace, an early bedtime, or guaranteed certainty before buying.

If Universal adds more dates, the event could become a major planning tool for fall trips. For now, treat it as a limited test with a strong hook: Epic Universe after dark, all five worlds open, and a ticket price that lands in the same general neighborhood as Disney’s established After Hours events.

What We Still Don’t Know

  • Whether Universal will add more Universal Nights dates
  • Whether prices will vary by date
  • How crowds will spread across Epic Universe’s five worlds
  • Whether any operational limits will apply to top attractions
  • How quickly the first two dates will sell out
