Epic Universe: The Countdown Begins
As the countdown to the grand opening of Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe begins, we’re here to bring you the latest construction updates and rumored details for this highly anticipated theme park. Scheduled to open in 2025, Epic Universe is set to redefine the theme park experience with its unique layout and immersive themed worlds.
Celestial Park: The Gateway to Epic Universe
The central area of Epic Universe, named Celestial Park, is the first stop on our journey. Majestic gateway portals leading to each of the four themed worlds and the celestial park hub areas will greet visitors here. These portals, adorned with beacons and front plates, will serve as the only entrance to each land, creating a sense of exclusivity and wonder.
Starfall Racers and Constellation Carousel: Thrills in Celestial Park
Celestial Park will feature two attractions: Starfall Racers, a dual-track roller coaster, and Constellation Carousel, a covered carousel with animal-shaped ride vehicles modeled after constellations. Both attractions are currently in various stages of construction, with protective green layers and sand layers being added to ensure their durability and longevity.
Additional Dining and Entertainment Options
In addition to the attractions, Celestial Park will offer various dining and entertainment options. The Meteor Astro Pub, a restaurant and bar, is expected to replace the originally designed dining location. Another nearby dining location, rumored to be an Asian-inspired restaurant named Blue Dragon, is also under construction.
Dark Universe: A Land of Universal Monsters
Moving on to the Dark Universe, the land based on Universal Monsters, we can see the beacon for the portal taking shape. Brick-themed walls have also been installed on both sides of the land’s main dining location, which will serve as the entrance to Monsters Unchained, the Frankenstein experiment – a massive indoor ride featuring all of the Universal Monsters.
How to Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk
The beacon for the How to Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk portal features a weather vane at the top of a tower, showcasing Toothless. The deck-themed pathways are appearing more complete, and the land’s Outdoor Boat Ride station roof is coming together. A character meeting area and a small backstage pad have also been added, hinting at potential future expansions.
Super Nintendo World: A Colorful Universe
Super Nintendo World’s portal is not as far along as the others, but the exterior has received some green paint and white trim since our last update. Bowser’s Fortress, the entrance to the Mario Kart Bowser’s Challenge ride, is now behind scaffolding. The area’s main attraction, Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge, is expected to be a thrilling ride for all ages.
Donkey Kong Country: Adventure Awaits
Scaffolding has come down around the left side of the Donkey Kong Country area, revealing a large temple brick wall display. The main Golden Temple facade has received nearly all of its exterior mesh sections, and a multi-layer waterfall effect is expected to be placed within this area.
Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Ministry of Magic
The beacon at the top of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Ministry of Magic portal is themed as a hand holding a wand. A small courtyard has appeared by the land’s exit gate, and the Parisian building facades continue to receive a weathered appearance.
Hotels and Accommodations
Three hotels are being built for Epic Universe, including the Universal Helios Grand Hotel, Universal Stella Nova Resort, and Universal Terra Luna Resort. These hotels will offer guests a luxurious and convenient place to stay while exploring the wonders of the Epic Universe.
