VelociCoaster at Universal Orlando’s Islands of Adventure was named “Best Roller Coaster” by Theme Park Insider for the second year in a row.
The prominent theme park information website announced its list of 2023 winners of various attractions and parks around the world to usher in the New Year, and the Jurassic World–themed thrill ride once again claimed its place as the top predator of rollercoasters.

Ride the VelociCoaster and get up and personal with the park’s most famous residents, the Velociraptors, at Jurassic World! Join the “squad” and race at top speed alongside four crafty predators as you make your way through a raptor paddock before being hurled vertically 155 feet into the air.
This comes after Universal Orlando’s The Great Movie Escape, which includes an escape room with a Jurassic World theme, opened in December and the ground-breaking Jurassic World Adventure ride at Universal Studios Beijing received the Thea Award for Outstanding Achievement for an Attraction in November. Theme Park Insider named VelociCoaster both Best Roller Coaster and Best New Ride for 2022.
